(25) 4th Year Head Coach  - 2 J. A. MacDonald Trophy (OLA Jr  B  Champions) & 2 Founders Cup Champions (Canadian Jr B Champions). Stew is a graduate of the Six Nations Minor Lacrosse Association system. Having played for the Rebels in 1999 & 2000 before graduating on to the Six Nations Jr A Arrows squad for the remainder of his Jr eligibility. During his two-year stint with the Rebels as a player, Stew finished with 20-GP 27-G 28-A 55-Pts 61-PIM.

Stew graduated to play for the Arrows from 2001 to 2004. Stew accumulated 226 points on 111 goals, 115 assists with 133 penalty-minutes in just 74 games. Stew added 55 points in the playoffs on 28 goals, 27 assists plus 91 post-season penalty-minutes. Stew was drafted by the National Lacrosse League Toronto Rock in the 2nd round; 13th overall in the 2003 Entry Draft.

On May 3, 2009 - Stew Monture became the Rebels franchise all-time most winningest regular season coach as he surpassed the original Rebels coach, Vince Hill who guided the 1996, 1997 & 1998 teams to 41 regular season wins.

Cory Bomberry - Assistant Coach

(32) Assistant Coach entering his 4th year. Plays for the National Lacrosse Lacrosse (NLL), Rochester Knighthawks during the winter. Cory helped the Bandits win the Champions Cup (NLL Championship Trophy) in 2008.

Cory was originally draft into the NLL by the Rochester Knighthaws in the 1st round of the 1996 Entry Draft. Cory (a.k.a. "Bomber") is in his 14th NLL season on three teams. He with a Rochester Knighthawks from 1997 to 2003. Cory spent two season with the Arizona Sting before coming to Buffalo for the 2005 season. 2009 was Cory's 4th year as a Bandit before been dealt back to the K-hawks during the off-season.

Cory finished the 2009 NLL Regular season with 15 goals, 36 assists for 51 points in 15 games. During his career, Cory has played in 175 NLL games, 231 goals, 408 assists for 639 points with 178 Minutes in Penalties.  Cory also has played in 21 playoff games, scoring 20 assisting on 41 other for 61 playoff points wtih 19 penalty minutes. 

In the summer, Cory plays for the Six Nations Chiefs of the Major Series Lacrosse (MSL). Cory is known to have one of the most intimidating shots in the any league he plays in.


Derek General - Goalie Coach

This is Derek's 4th-year with the Rebels as their goalie coach. Derek played from 1997 to 2005 (9 years) in the National Lacrosse League for 5 different teams (Rochester Knighthawks, Albany Attack, New Jersey Storm and the Buffalo Bandits) as a goalie. Derek played in 79 regular season games. Won 10 with 20 losses and a goals against average of 14.01. Derek played in 7 playoff games split between the Rochester Knighthawks in 1997 & 1998 and the 2004 & 2005 Buffalo Bandits.


Murray Porter Jr. - Assistant Coach

Murray enter his 1st-year as an assistant coach for the Rebels. Murray plays for the Ohsweken Warriors of the Senior B League during the summer months. In 2009, Murray had a goal and an assist in 9 games while accumulating 45 penalty minutes for the Warriors. In 2008, Murray had 4 Pts (1G, 3A) with 35 PIM for the Mohawk Stars.

Murray is a graduate of the Six Nations Rebels. Murray began his Jr career in 2003 with the Rebels. Murray played in 18 regular season games netting 18 Pts (4G, 14A) with 155 penalty minutes. Murray added 17 playoff games contributing 9 assists with 95 penalty minutes.
 
Murray dressed for one games in 2003 for the Six Nations Jr A Arrows as he accumulated 4 minutes in penalties. Murray would go on to play three more years for the Arrows until 2006. Murray finished his Jr A career with 12 points on 3 goals and 9 assists in 37 games with 164 penalty minutes. Murray also played in 13 post-season games at the Jr. A level. Roger had 2 goals, 2 assists for 4 points with 46 penalty minutes.

Trainer - Kate Stefan

Kate joined the Rebels late in the 2009 Regular season and quickly became an important part of the Rebels Bench Staff.
Kate enters her 2nd year with the Rebels as their trainer. Kate lives in Port Dover, Ontario.

Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies (Fitness and Lifestyle concentration) from University of Regina 2002, Diploma in Sports Injury Management from Sheridan College 2005, Diploma in Massage Therapy from Ontario College of Health and Technology 2009.
Became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 2005
Previously worked as Trainer/Athletic Therapist for: Hamilton Lady Avalanche W-USL 2007; Burlington Chiefs Jr. A Lacrosse 2006; Hamilton Tiger-Cats training camp 2004; Brock University Wrestling Team (CIS champs 2004); University of Regina Cougars Women's Basketball Team (CIS champions 2001); and various grappling/ brazilian jiu-jitsu/ muay thai events in the GTA

Strength & Conditioning Coach - Matt Green

Matt Green - This is the first year for Matt with the Rebels. Matt is the owner of Freestyle Fitness. What inspires you? Matt will tell you that it comes from the spirit within. He has worked closely with hundreds of personal clients in helping them find that spirit while coaching them to achieve their personal greatness. As a sought after motivational speaker Matthew has delivered key note addresses to audiences on topics such as "The Power of 1" : Exponential Influence, "Greatness Is Inside": Finding the Power Within, Life's Road Map, "Leadership 101": Integrity, Being, and Doing, and Identity: Equity vs Equality for such organizations as the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, Hamilton District School Board (at the elementary, high school, and board staff level), Six Nations Welfare, and New Credit of the Mississauga First Nations Health Promotions. As a speaker, coach, or personal fitness consultant Matthew Green is whole heartedly committed to improving the over all quality of live for his audiences and clients.

Matthew's gift as a powerful motivator brings 10 years of coaching experience to Freestyle Fitness. As an Acadia Axemen Alumni, Matthew spent 4 years in Nova Scotia as a Captain and 2-time Atlantic Conference All Star in the position of Free Safety. Upon graduation from Acadia University, he traveled to Munich, Germany to coach and play for the Starnberg Argonauts of the Bavarian American Football League. While overseas he was given the opportunity to work with two of Germany's top strength and conditioning coaches, Boris and Roman Boeven. This opportunity enabled him to develop both North American and European training techniques which together provide the knowledge and skill necessary to successfully attain an elite performance level.

Upon returning home to Hamilton, Matthew concluded his football career with the McMaster Marauders and began working with childhood friend Craig Spear at Freestyle Fitness. Together they created what has become Hamilton's premier Fitness Boot Camp program. In 2006 was the recipient of the prestigious JC Holland award for Sport due to his commitment to promoting active living in the community. A community activist, Matthew is committed to financially assisting youth pursue post secondary education through his involvement with various scholarship and bursary programs.

Currently Matthew can been watched on CHTV @ Home as a monthly reoccurring guest fitness expert, educating the viewers on various fitness interests. While sharing time between the Hamilton TV studio location and the Six Nations program, Matthew is also the Conditioning Coach for the 2007 Junior A Minto Cup Champion Six Nations Arrows Express Lacrosse team. Following this success, Matt was recently named the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League. An expert of both physical and mental peak performance Matthew works to coach his athletes to compete at their highest peak potential.

Other groups and events he consults with include Hamilton Police Services, Hamilton Emergency Services, Hamilton AA/AAA Rep Minor hockey, Tom Longboat 10-km run, Six Nations Biggest Loser, Climb for Cancer, Six Nations March Break Kids Camp, New Credit March Break Camp, ILA Youth Soccer, Hamilton Conservation Authority, Six Nations Long Term Care, Iroquois National Lacrosse U-19 team, and the Afro Canadian Caribbean Association.
